Anxiety

I have suffered with anxiety for 4 years. In this time depression has come and gone but the anxiety remains. It can be hard sometimes to even get out of bed but i always try my hardest to carry on like everythings fine. My friends dont know how bad my anxiety is and i guess I'll never tell them. I do often wonder how different my life would be without this illness but i know god gave us a life we are strong enough to live so i must have the strength to face this. My way of coping is to read, write and make jokes. I find my way of coping is to make others smile to enjoy little things like the happiness of others. I try to brighten others days so they'll never fell like i do. To anyone suffering alone, it can be hard but you must find your way of escaping it may be reading or running or even watching a certain tv show. Whatever it is do it as much as you can or at the points where you feel your most anxiuos and i hope it helps you.

Sexism in todays world

In todays world although not everyone can see it, sexism is still a big thing. I myself as a 15 year old see sexism in my daily life. Its become one of those things that we just overlook it happens so much thta we barely see it. I mean how often are you walking down the road and a car full of men beeps at you or out with your friends in town and you get approached by men asking you questions. This has become so normal we overlook them. I think a big way ive seen sexism recently was at school, we've been banned from wearing sports leggings in pe as the male teachers found it distracting. I mean we shouldnt be punished and forced to wear shorts in winter, just because the male teachers dont want to look at a girl in that way and know they cant have them. This topic is one that has sparked debate throughout our school and i think it opened a lot of eyes to the problems we face. Girls are not seen by who they are, their charector or intellegance were senn by our bodies and judged on what we look like. I know not only girls face this problem and i understand sexism can be the other way round but stastically girls have seen it worse, we werent even allowed into top universities until around 100 years ago. I work hard, i get A's in most of my subjects, but they may all be for nothing. Being born a girl is a disadvantage and im glad that the country i live in is a lot more equal but theres still a long way to go. For some girls in poorer countries they face sexism and discrimination every second of every day, this needs to stop. Women make up half the population yet we follow laws that we barely have imput on. Women got the right to vote inthe uk in 1918 thanks to some inspiring women and i am thankful for them, i just wish i didnt have to feel second in line just because im a girl.
